U.P.P.R.S. Big Bay Point Lighthouse |
|
![]() |
Many accounts have been given of the hauntings' of this lighthouse turned bed and breakfast. Located 31 miles northeast of Marquette, the lighthouse was built in 1896 and it is believed that the current haunting takes its' roots in that era. The original keeper, a man named William Prior, hung himself in the woods near the light after the untimely death of his son. Since then, the spirit of a man in a light keeper's uniform, matching his description, has been sighted throughout the place. These sightings are not the only activity at Big Bay. Guests to the bed and breakfast have also reported lights turning themselves on and off, cabinets and doors that open and close on their own, ghostly voices, and cold spots...surely to give anyone chills up their spine!
