Seul Choix Point LIghthouse

Seul Choix

The Seul Choix Point Lighthouse stands 14 miles from Manistique on the sores of Lake Michigan.  The area was once home to a sizeable fishing community, but is now more of a ghost town.  The lighthouse was constructed in 1892 and is still operated through automation, although a former light keeper who once lived there may still occupy the place.  Objects are sometimes rearranged through the house, and the smell of cigar smoke can often be detected, even though it is now a smoke free building.  Other occurrences include phantom footsteps and the sound of someone climbing the light tower.  The event that has been documented by a TV crew is the face of former light keeper, Captain Joseph Willy Townshend, that appears in a mirror in one of the upstairs bedrooms.  There is also a story of a young girl with a blank stare who appears and disappears at times.

Seul Choix has become one of the most documented lighthouses for paranormal activity.  On October 15th, 2005 UPPRS had the pleasure of investigating this beautiful lighthouse.  You can find our official investigation on the investigation page.

The light house is now open as a museum, which is open seasonally.  We highly encourage any historical or ghost enthusiast to visit this great place!
