About Me: Why do I enjoy Ghost Hunting? It's a question I am asked all the time, and I still can't point to one reason, so I always answer...."I just do"! Since I have been a kid I have always enjoyed the adrenaline rush and feeling of being scared with a good Ghost Story, or scary movie. I would ride my bike to the local library every day I could to check out books on ghost's, reading the same ones over, and over, and over. As I grew up, I never grew out (of ghosts), much to the dismay of my parents I am sure. Now, instead of riding my bike to the library, we were driving our cars to old abandoned houses trying to find a good scare. Most of the time we were just scaring ourselves, but there was always an "incident" or two we still talk about even today. One of those stories happened on Devils Night '91, and I will share that story with you in the Submitted Stories section of our website. After High School Graduation from Sault High in 1991, it was off to college at Central Michigan University to study Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts. Although I always thought I would go into Parapsychology someday at Duke University, as always, life had a different road for me at this point. I would spend the next five years going to CMU, and the entire time I always wanted to get back to Sault Ste. Marie. After graduation I was able to get a Broadcasting job at 99.5 Yes FM here in the Sault, one thing lead to another, and before I knew it I was getting married and settling back down in my home town. Since my closest friends had either stayed in the Sault, or moved back, it only made sense we would eventually take what we loved as kids, and make it a labor of love, to start the U.P.P.R.S. Members Steve LaPlaunt, Brad Blair, and Lance Brown are all childhood friends, and one, two, or all three of them are in all my stories of my younger years when were running around old abandoned houses, and grave yards. What a dream come true for us to start this group, and re-energize our love for ghosts, and ghost hunting. Member Jason Fegan was introduced to us by Lance just before we formed the group, and member Lee Kerry was inducted just this summer, he is our "newbee". That is my Who, What, Where, When, and Why of how I got to be right here in the Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society. Thank You for taking the time to get to know me/us, and if we can be of any assistance to you....JUST ASK! |
